IMPHAL, Oct 24: The All Loktak Lake Areas Fishermen`™s Union Manipur (ALLAFUM) and organising partners is going to organised a Loktak- Ki Nga Kumhei on the October 27 (Mera Purmima) from 8:00 am till 8:00 pm at Thanga Chinglak.
A statement of the union said this year the Loktak-Ki Nga Kumhei aims to promote the Loktak fishes to other parts of the world in order to conserve the Loktak wetland and its fish habitat.
In this Kumhei, there will be stalls selling variety of Loktak fishes by the Loktak fisher women folks at the local market rate, it said.
There will be interaction sessions during the programme, it added.
ALLAFUM on behalf of the organising partners appeal to one and all that let us promote Loktak aquatic products including fishes, vegetables, herbs, etc. to save the Loktak heritage which is our duty bound responsible for our future generations, it said.
